Lot of Laps To Run At PASS 400 Weekend
Naples, ME (September 29, 2006) When
the action resumes on Saturday of weekend two of the rain-delayed PASS 400 Weekend at
Beech Ridge Motor Speedway, Scarborough, ME there will be a lot of racing action.
The first activities will be the consolation round with three Wildcat/Strictly consis, two
Sport/Series/Limiteds consis, two PASS Outlaw Late Model consis, and two PASS North Series
Super Late Model consis. Thats 120 laps of racing action to see who makes the big
show.
Then its the first of two PASS Modified features, followed by the Maine
Indoor Karting Wildcat/Strictly 75. Cole Watson of Naples, ME in the #45 will lead the
field to the green for the 75 laps with Bruce Webster of Kezar Falls in the #7X on the
outside pole. For both of these drivers, the front row is a long way from where they
finished last September in the 1st Annual PASS 400 Weekend. Watson finished 31st and
Webster finished 34th. However, they better keeps their eyes a couple of rows back as last
years winner Brian Caswell is lurking in the third row with runner up Skip Tripp
right in his tire tracks.
After the PASS North Super Late Model Last Chance race, its the PASS Outlaw Late
Model 100 with Charlie Colby of Newcastle, ME in the #2 and Corey Williams of Boothbay,
doing double duty in the Outlaws and Super Late Models in the #47, on the front row, with
veterans Jimmy Rosenfield of Middleborough, MA in the #44 and Dennis Spencer of Oxford in
the Cole-Mans Concrete #8X in the second row.
Sally Gerardi of Standish, ME in the White Rock #77 will lead the Sport Series/Limiteds to
the green with Tommy Ricker of Mechanic Falls, ME in the 1X on the outside for 100 laps of
action. Gerardi and Ricker are looking to improve upon their 22nd - and 25th-place
finishes in last years 100-lapper.
Then its the big show. The starting line-up for the PASS North Series Super Late
Model 300 will be completed after the two concis and the Last Chance race. Heat winners
Jeremie Whorff, Ben Rowe, and Cassius Clark are all in the show, but Cassius has to move
back to eleventh as the most recent winner. Other qualifiers include Jeff Taylor, Bill
Whorff, Jr, Mike Rowe, Billy Penfold, Stan Meserve, Donnie Whitten, Dave Dion, Alan
Tardif, Scott Mulkern, Johnny Clark, Bubba Pelton, and Travis Benjamin.
However, some of the top points drivers and big names are still not in the field,
including Kelly Moore, Brad Leighton, Patrick Laperle, Scott Chubbuck, Richie Dearborn,
Alan Wilson, John Flemming, Chris Kennison, Corey Williams, Scott Robbins, and local
favorites Bobby Baab, Bub Bilodeau, Trevor Sanborn, Bill Rodgers, David Oliver, Curtis
Gerry, and Garry Johnson. The two Super Late Model consis and the Last Chance Race are
sure to be barnburners for these teams.Campers at Beech Ridge

Midweek Open
Series At Beech Ridge A Big Hit Results Listed
HERE
(Naples, ME -- September 22, 2006) Over 170 cars in four divisions checked into Beech
Ridge Motor Speedway, Scarborough, ME on Thursday night for the Midweek Open Series 50 Lap
Specials to kick off the big PASS 400 Weekend.
In the Stock 4's, it was Derek S. Cairns of Waterford, ME bringing the #87 home for the
victory and the $500 check. He was followed to the line by Troy Jordan of Turner, ME in
the #6, Jerry Goss of Mechanics Falls, ME in the #8, Jamie Leavitt of Minot, ME in the
#93, and the fifth place car was driven by MYSTERY DRIVER #1 with the bad handwriting.
In the Trucks, it was Rick Hebert in the #19X from Peru, ME who finished fifth but took
the win when the top four finishers had troubles in post-race tech inspection, second went
to Jeff Meserve of Saco, ME in the #17, followed by Matt Dow of Buxton, ME in the #84,
Jeff Gillette of S. Portland, ME in the #5, and Chad Binette of Arundel, ME in the #0.
Bob Washburn of Durham, ME in the # 0X took home the $500 in the stock 8's. Nick Coates of
Turner, ME in the #12 was second, followed by Travis Stearns of Gray, ME in the #85, Thom
Bell of Minot, ME in the #18, and Clayton Barker of Standish, ME in the #6 was fifth.
The best finish of the night was in the Ladies Race as we saved the best for last. Dottie
Patria of Turner, ME in the #34 came across the line backwards to take the checkers over
Tina Titus of Lisbon Falls, ME in the #48. These two great drivers had battled for most of
the 40 laps and came out of turn four to the checkers side-by-side, banging and beating,
and finally tangled with 20 feet to go and started spinning, but it was Dottie who slide
across the line first. Kimberly Sessions of Auburn, ME in the #2 had the best seat in the
house at the finish and came home third, followed by Vanna Brackett of Buckfield, ME in
the #23 who came from the back of the field to fourth, and Donna Coffin of Hollis, ME in
the #26 was fifth. |
