DJ Shaw makes it two in a row at
White Mountain

Dale Shaw, Joe Pastore top Mod, Sportsman fields
NORTH WOODSTOCK NH (8/12) Center Conway New Hampshire's DJ Shaw charged from deep in the field to take the lead on lap 53 of Sunday afternoon's Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North super late model feature, earning his second win of 2012 at North Woodstock, New Hampshire's White Mountain Motorsports Park. Shaw kept Lonnie Sommerville and Cassius Clark in his mirrors for the final seventy laps in a rain shortened 123 lap feature.

Kyle DeSouza and Lonnie Sommerville led the field to the green and Sommerville quickly dispatched with DeSouza for the early lead. Sommerville's teammate and car owner Scott Mulkern raced past DeSouza on a lap 27 restart and took the lead from Sommerville when the pair restarted after a lap 34 yellow. 15 laps later Sommerville reclaimed the lead but Shaw was ready to take up the challenge, moving up to second on lap 49. Shaw, who has a White Mountain late model track title to his credit, drove by Sommerville on lap 53 and opened up a commanding lead despite two more restart challenges from Sommerville. Mulkern's good day came to an end after a dust up with John Donahue sent him into the turn one wall, just as mother nature let loose with showers that ended the race.

The win was Shaw's second in as many outings. Now third in the season long point standings, he trails point leader Cassius Clark by twenty two and second place runner Travis Benjamin by three. His margin of victory was 1.171 seconds. Five caution flags slowed the action and twelve of the twenty one starters completed all the laps. DeSouza and Travis Benjamin won the qualifiers.

The PASS Mods had a forty lap showdown on tap and It was DJ's dad Dale Shaw in a dominant performance. Shaw got out front on lap five and raced away from the field to record his first win of the 2012 season. Alan Wilson came upo to challenge Shaw but fell five car lengths short at the checkers. Travis Buzzell ran a strong third; Mod point leader Andy Shaw finished fourth and Mike Orr completed the top five. Dale Shaw and Bill Dixon captured heat race wins. Andy Shaw now holds a twelve point lead over Wilson and there's fourteen points back to Travis Buzzell in third.

Joe Pastore captured his first PASS Sportsman win Sunday in a rough and tumble 75 lap feature. Jarrad Ledger led from the get go and stayed out front two thirds of the way but a lap 53 tap from Pastore sent him up the race track, giving Pastore the top spot. Dan McKeage and Mike Clark followed Pastore through and that's the way the top three finished. Carey Martin came back through the field after a flat right front on lap 46 to finish fourth and Ledger had to settle for fifth.Ledger and Pastore each won a qualifier. Martin now leads Pastore by a single point in the battle for the PASS Sportsman title.

All three PASS North series take a weekend off before heading to the Nutmeg State for the Pro All Stars' first appearance at Stafford Motor Speedway. The event also marks the first race for the northern swing of the 2012 PASS National Championship title chase.
