PASS HONORS 2015
NORTH CHAMPIONS

Naples, ME - The Pro All Stars Series celebrated the end of the 2015 season at their Banquet of Champions on Saturday night, January 9th at the Augusta Civic Center. PASS President Tom Mayberry opened the awards ceremony by thanking everybody for coming and showing their continued support for the series. Mayberry congratulated each of the 2015 PASS North champions, Andy Shaw (Modifieds), Joey Doiron (National), Mike Rowe (North and Northeast). He also congratulated Glen Luce on his 2015 Oxofrd 250 win. Mayberry then reflected back on the 2015 season by talking about the diversity in the fields. With 16 races on the schedule between the US and Canada for the super late models in 2015, there were 11 different winners with only four multiple race winners. Talk then turned to the upcoming 2016 season with all the buzz regarding the new modifieds being built over the winter, and the expectation of the growth for this series in 2016. Mayberry listed the tracks that the series would make appearances at for 2016 and noted that the 2016 PASS schedule was officially finalized only hours prior to the banquet. He thanked all of his employees from 2015 and presented certificates to each person. Special recognition awards were given to Bill Hill and Jack Gerbrands of Northern Race Tire whom Mayberry noted were invaluable to the success of each event. Mayberry then presented a Lifetime Achievement Award to Rick Moody for his dedication to PASS and the racing community.

Rookie of the year plaques were awarded to Matt Sanborn for the Modified division and to Jeremy Davis for both the North and Northeast Super Late Model divisions.

The 2015 Champions were then awarded their trophies, purse funds and championship rings and belt buckles. Honored with the PASS Modified championship was Center Conway's Andy Shaw. This was Shaw's 5th championship in the past six years. Shaw edged runner-up Scott Alexander by only 5 points. Shaw drove the Sumner Sessions owned #0 Modified to 2 wins, 10 top 5 and 11 top 10 finishes in 2015.

Receiving top honors for the PASS National Championship was Berwick, Maine driver Joey Doiron. Doiron also finished as the runner-up in both the North and Northeast series in 2015. Doiron raced all six National races, winning the inaugural event for PASS at Airborne Speedway and the season ending event at Greenville-Pickens. Taking home the National points runner-up honors was Turner, Maine driver Ben Rowe.

Rounding out the awards ceremony, receiving a standing ovation, and taking home the most hardware for the evening, was PASS North and Northeast Champion, Mike Rowe. Rowe completed in all 16 events on the schedule for 2015 driving the Peter Petit owned #7. Rowe took home 3 wins in 2016, including the season opener at Oxford Plains Speedway in April, Star Speedway in May, and Speedway 95 in June. Rowe had 6 top 5 and 10 top 10 finishes in the Northeast series, as well as 8 top 5 and 13 top 10 finishes in the North series. In an emotion filled speech, Rowe thanked his entire crew, sponsors, and car owner for making it all happen, stating that without them, the championship would not have been possible.
