Fan
Appreciation On Tap As PASS
South
Takes
On Hickory This Weekend |
CHARLOTTE, NC
(September 20) - In late
2005, the ranks of Super
Late Model racing in the
Carolinas was shrinking. The
few tracks that featured the
division were eliminating
them and there was not a
series for teams to follow.
That winter, Pro All Stars
Series (PASS) President Tom
Mayberry decided to take a
big risk in expanding his
sanctioning body that was
finding success in New
England. When the inaugural
PASS South Super Late Model
season was announced in
2006, there were many
naysayers that did not think
a series would be viable.
But, when 33 cars showed up
at Hickory Motor Speedway
for the first Easter Bunny
150 that spring, the
naysayers were quieted and a
new series was born. Now,
over 10 years later, PASS
South continues as the
oldest and most successful
Super Late Model sanction in
the region, with hundreds of
drivers having raced in the
division throughout its
history. But, PASS South
would not be where it is
today without the fans. So
it is only fitting that this
weekend PASS honors its fans
with PASS Fan Appreciation
at the track where it all
began. For just $15 adult
admission, fans will get to
see a full field of PASS
South Super Late Models
compete for 150 laps, plus
they will see the
Mid-Atlantic Limited Late
Models race for $1500 to win
and the Southern Outlaw
Street Stocks compete for
$1000 to win.
Andy
Loden returns to PASS South
competition this weekend at
Hickory for the first time
since 2013. The former
three-time Hickory Motor
Speedway track champion will
pilot Robert Hamke's potent
#74 as he seeks his fifth
career PASS South Super Late
Model win. After moving to
Super Late Model racing in
2010, Loden quickly
established himself as one
of the fastest drivers in
PASS South setting 12 quick
qualifying times over the
years and finishing third in
points in 2010 and 2011.
But, Loden has stepped aside
in recent years to support
his son's Quarter-Midget
racing efforts. Despite a
little rust, Loden is
excited to step into the car
that Preston Peltier has
piloted in recent years to
several wins at Hickory.
"I don't have any
expectations, just looking
to have some fun and help
Robert [Hamke] work out some
stuff on his new car," says
Loden. "I think we can run
good, but I'll definitely
have some cobwebs to work
out."
As Loden looks
for his first PASS South win
since 2011, PASS South
points leaders, Matt Craig
and Kodie Conner will
continue their race for the
series title. Local favorite
and former series champion,
Tyler Church, returns along
with veterans Kelly Moore,
Jimmy Doyle, and Lee
Hansard. Colt James will
make his first start of the
season following his track
championship at Southern
National and will be joined
by June's winner at Hickory,
Chris Dilbeck. JP Josiasse
will make the trip from
Ontario, while JD Roberts
will make the tow from New
York and Matt Sever will be
coming from Pennsylvania.
Rookies Garrett Archer and
Justin LaDuke have also
filed entries for this
weekend.
All the
action gets under way on
Friday at Hickory Motor
Speedway with rotating
practice for all division
from 3 - 6:05 PM. On
Saturday, practice will
begin at 3 PM with
qualifying starting at 5:15
PM, followed by the Pit
Party, and main events going
green at 7:05 PM for the
PASS South Super Late
Models, Mid-Atlantic Limited
Late Models, and Southern
Outlaw Street Stocks.

HALL #94 -
POLEWARCZYK #97 |
PASS Racers Prepare For
Condensed Weekend Of Racing
At Beech Ridge |
NAPLES, ME
(September 16) - With a
dismal forecast calling for
rain on Sunday, Pro All
Stars Series (PASS)
officials and Beech Ridge
Motor Speedway management
made the decision earlier
this week to reformat the
New England 500 weekend into
a condensed "Super Saturday"
of action. The PASS North
Super Late Models and ACT
Late Models will each now
race for 150 laps, along
with Twin 50s for the
Valenti Modified Series, and
action for the PASS
Modifieds and Sport Series
all part of this "Super
Saturday" of racing.
Hometown favorite Garrett
Hall has seen a fair bit of
success at Beech Ridge Motor
Speedway in the past and has
years of experience there.
And while he has been able
to go to victory lane in
PASS this year for the first
time in his career, it is
the race that got away that
has him keenly focused for
this weekend.
"My
team and I are looking
forward to "Super Saturday,"
not only to be a three time
winner in the PASS tour, but
to redeem ourselves after
running second and competing
for the lead in the Oxford
250," says Hall, who
eventually finished seventh
in the 250.
With his
local experience at Beech
Ridge Motor Speedway, Hall
definitely has to be
considered among the
favorites this weekend. But,
it is his PASS wins at
Thompson and Speedway 95
earlier this year that has
Hall confident he can
compete with the best short
trackers New England has to
offer.
"The Spring
race at Beech Ridge we
started off great and
finished on the podium in
third," says Hall. "In July,
we finished second in the
150 lapper, so hopefully,
with the race being
shortened this weekend, the
third time will be the
charm."
With just a
few events left in the race
for the 2016 PASS North
Super Late Model
championship, Beech Ridge
Motor Speedway could play a
very interesting role in the
title chase. Center Conway,
NH's DJ Shaw comes to Beech
Ridge with a 72-point
advantage over Johnny Clark.
Shaw was the winner at Beech
Ridge in the spring, while
Clark captured the checkered
flag in last year's Southern
Maine Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep
300. After nearly winning
his third HP Hood Oxford 250
in the last four years,
Morill, ME's, Travis
Benjamin, returns to Beech
Ridge looking to make up
ground in the championship
fight and seeking his second
straight win at the 1/3 mile
speedway. And you should not
county out Mike Hopkins, Ben
Rowe, and former track
champion and defending PASS
North champion, Mike Rowe.
Another strong field is
expected Saturday for the
first major event in New
England to come following
the success of the 43rd
Annual Oxford 250 a couple
of weeks ago. This year's
track champion, Curtis
Gerry, will lead the drivers
from Maine to Beech Ridge,
including 2015 Oxford 250
winner, Glen Luce, JT
Thurlow, Travis Stearns,
David Oliver, Scott
Farrington, Dave Farrington,
Jr., Scott Robbins, Corey
Bubar, Bobby Timmons, Alan
Wilson, Reid Lanpher, Tim
and TJ Brackett, Joey
Doiron, and Adam Polvinen.
Veterans Jeremy Davis, Derek
Griffith, and Joey
Polewarczyk from New
Hampshire will also be among
the top contenders on
Saturday.
All the
action gets continues on
"Super Saturday" at Beech
Ridge Motor Speedway with
rotating practice beginning
at 9:30 AM, heat races
starting at 1 PM, followed
by features for the PASS
North Super Late Models, ACT
Late Models, Valenti
Modified Series, PASS
Modifieds, and Sport Series.

weekend schedule can be

New And Familiar
Faces Return As SMRS
Modifieds Make Inaugural
Visit To Tri-County |
CHARLOTTE, NC (July
20) - The Tour-type
Modifieds of the Southern
Modified Racing Series
(SMRS) Presented By PASS
return to action this Friday
night for "Foothills Night
At The Races" at Tri-County
Motor Speedway. The series
first trip to the
multi-groove .416-mile
facility will see several
familiar faces returning,
while the addition of the
Mod Lite division will
expand the competition
throughout the remainder of
the 2016 season. The Mod
Lite cars, piloted by
drivers like Winston-Salem,
NC's Scott Hall, will help
grow the starting fields and
will see the winner
recognized in Victory Lane
ceremonies and also receive
recognition for the fastest
qualifying lap in their
respective division.
"I'm excited to get back to
racing in the Modified and
with PASS and the Southern
Modified Racing Series,"
says Hall. "Adding the Mod
Lites division gives us a
stepping stone to the
Tour-Type Modifieds. I have
heard great things about the
series and am looking
forward to our debut on
Friday night at Tri-County."
A familiar face that
will be making his return to
the SMRS Tour this weekend
at Tri-County Motor Speedway
will be Bobby Measmer, Jr.
Measmer returns following a
popular and hard fought win
at his hometown track, the
Concord Speedway, which saw
him take the checkered flag
over Burt Myers and Ryan
Preece.
"To be able
to win at Concord was
awesome, it was my first
Modified win, plus getting
to do it in front of my
family and friends, made it
that much more special,"
says Measmer. "Another thing
that win has done is, not
only let me, but our team
know we can win and be a
competitor week in and week
out."
Now, still
celebrating that Concord win
and with local sponsor
Crispy's Bar and Grill
coming on board, Measmer and
the Hughes Motorsports team
return to the SMRS feeling
confident that they can join
John Smith and Jon McKennedy
as a two-time winner this
season with the series.
"Our expectations going
into this Friday night's
race at Tri-County is
actually a little
different," says Measmer.
"We didn't plan at the
beginning of the season to
run this race, but with the
awesome job that SMRS has
done so far this year, we're
going to run this race and
test a few things hoping to
learn something new and
still at the same time
compete for the win."
In addition to Hall and
Measmer, SMRS points leader
John Smith, Burt and Jason
Myers, and Brandon Ward are
all expected, along with
Andy Jankowiak, Mike Norman,
and more. |

Special PASS
Event Highlights
Big Weekend At
Oxford Plains |
NAPLES, ME (June 30)
- With the 43rd Annual HP
Hood Oxford 250 less than
two months away and with
over 40 cars already
entered, racers from across
the continent are starting
to focus their efforts
toward one of short track
racing's biggest events.
This weekend a huge
opportunity will be
presented to Pro All Stars
Series (PASS) Super Late
Model racers on the "Road To
The Oxford 250." On Sunday,
a special 100 lap event for
PASS non-winners and drivers
who have competed at Oxford
Plains Speedway over the
last five years will award
the top three finishers a
guaranteed provisional for
this year's HP Hood Oxford
250.
Florida's Dalton
Sargeant has made quite an
impression since first
beginning his stock car
racing career in PASS South
back in 2014. Since then, he
has won a K&N Pro Series
race at Irwindale Speedway
in California and been among
the front runners everywhere
he has competed. While a
PASS win has escaped him, he
challenged for the win
recently at Anderson Motor
Speedway and finished third
in the Over The Moutain 150
at Hickory Motor Speedway.
With over 70 cars expected
to try and make the field
for the HP Hood Oxford 250,
the opportunity to get
locked into one of short
track racing's most elite
starting lineups is not lost
on Sargeant.
"There
will be a couple of firsts
for me this weekend, my
first time at Oxford Plains
Speedway and my first PASS
North race," says Sargeant,
who will piliot the Windows
10 Toyota Camry #55. "We are
using this race to warm up
for the prestigious Oxford
250 later in the year, and
we'll work really hard to
put ourselves in a situation
where I can race for those
top 3 positions to lock us
into the 250. It's going to
be an uphill battle as we'll
be racing against some of
the best drivers on the east
coast but we'll learn what
we can and apply it for the
250."
An impressive
field of drivers will join
Sargeant as they look to
lock themselves into the
43rd Annual HP Hood Oxford
250 including veteran
campaigners Kelly Moore,
Tracy Gordon, Wayne
Helliwell, Jr., Bobby
Timmons, and Matt Matheson.
Derek Griffith will lead the
young talent, along with
Scott and Dave Farrington,
Jr., Adam Polvinen, Ben
Ashline, Brandon Barker, and
Wyatt Alexander. Plus, many
Oxford Plains favorites like
Tim and TJ Brackett, Scott
Robbins, Rusty Poland,
Dennis Spencer, Jr., Alan
Wilson, Ben Ashline, and
Nick Cusack.
It is a
huge weekend of racing at
Oxford Plains Speedway,
which actually begins on
Saturday night with
Applebee's Fireworks Night,
featuring Super Late Models,
Figure 8s, Legends,
Cruisers, Trucks, Street
Stocks, Outlaw, Bandits,
Ladies, and Rebels. On
Sunday, in addition to the
PASS non-winners 100 lapper,
it will be a continuation of
the Independence weekend fun
featuring the Colossal
Carnage 100 Enduro, North
East Street Stock Tour,
Spectator Drags, Flag Pole
race, and a Smokey Doughnut
competition.

non-winners race at Oxford
Plains Speedway and the 7/9

PASS
Returns To
Beech
Ridge Tuesday 7/12 |
NAPLES, ME (July 6)
- After a weekend that saw
three drivers punch their
tickets to the 43rd Annual
HP Hood Oxford 250, a full
field of Pro All Stars
Series (PASS) North Super
Late Models will be back on
track this weekend for the
Southern Maine
Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep 150 at
Beech Ridge Motor Speedway.
Hermon, ME's Mike
Hopkins leads the
championship standings by
just five points over 2014
PASS North champion, DJ
Shaw, who won the most
recent series event at Beech
Ridge earlier this year.
But, two drivers with a lot
of experience at Beech Ridge
Motor Speedway could be the
favorites on Saturday night.
Hometown hero Garrett Hall
is the only driver to win
more than one PASS North
Super Late Model event in
2016. And, defending PASS
National Champion, Joey
Doiron, has gone to victory
lane at Beech Ridge with the
series in recent years.
After enduring a tough
start to the 2016 season,
which saw Doiron involved in
crashes at Hickory Motor
Speedway and Star Speedway,
Doiron and the JBJ Machine
Shop team decided to step
back and concentrate their
efforts on events at Beech
Ridge and Oxford. Since
then, Doiron has won the
last two weekly events at
Beech Ridge and enters
Saturday night's Southern
Maine Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep
150 as the track's hottest
driver.
"I think
we've made gains as far as
the weekly stuff goes," says
Doiron. "I feel like we
always have a decent shot
every time PASS goes to
Beech Ridge, especially with
how we've ran the last two
weeks."
Another
strong field is expected for
Tuesday night's action at
Beech Ridge Motor with all
the action getting under way
with rotating practice for
all competing divisions
starting at 3 PM and racing
for the Southern Maine
Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep 150
beginning at 7 PM. American
Series Sport Series and
Wildcat divisions will also
be in action Tuesday night
for regularly-scheduled
feature events.

#09 - JEREMY
DAVIS |
PASS North Back
On Track This Weekend At
Lee USA Speedway |
NAPLES, ME (June 21)
- After a few weeks off due
to rain, the Pro All Stars
Series (PASS) North Super
Late Models will be back on
track Friday night at Lee
USA Speedway in New
Hampshire. Coming in to this
weekend's action, nine
drivers are in striking
distance for the
championship, including
Tamworth, NH's Jeremy Davis.
While Davis sits ninth in
points, the Granite State
favorite is not happy with
his results, scoring only
one top 10 finish so far
this season.
"My
season so far has had
ups-and-downs," says Davis.
"We've had some bad luck
with mechanical issues
taking us out of a bunch of
races this season. Lots of
big races we were in
contention for the win, just
bad luck has taken us out.
Like our last race at Lee,
we lost the motor fighting
for the lead late in the
race."
Last year,
Davis finished third to DJ
Shaw and Derek Ramstrom for
his third straight top five
finish. Coming back to Lee
USA Speedway this weekend
with PASS North, Davis
believes all the ingredients
are there to challenge for a
win, if luck is on his side.
And it is special, since
Davis began attending races
there when he was just a
week old.
"I'm
excited to get back to Lee,
it's one of my favorite
tracks," says Davis. "It's
big, fast, and high-banked.
There's not a lot of bite
left since the asphalt is
worn out, which makes it
very challenging. There's
two grooves at Lee, but no
one knows which is faster
until you try it out that
day. I'm really hoping for
some redemption from my bad
luck at Lee, but just a turn
around in my luck would be
good to me."
Another
strong field is expected for
Friday night's action at Lee
USA Speedway including
former HP Hood Oxford 250
winners, Ben and Mike Rowe,
as well as last year's
winner Glen Luce, and former
two-time winner, Travis
Benjamin. Former PASS
champions, Johnny Clark and
DJ Shaw are also entered,
along with Matt Matheson,
Todd Stone, Derek Ramstrom,
and Wyatt Alexander, plus
Granite State drivers, Bryan
Kruczek, Derek Griffith, and
Wayne Helliwell, Jr.
Eddie MacDonald will team up
again with Super Late Model
owner Dave Lemieux in the
PASS 150 at Lee USA. The
pair joined forces to win
the first ever SLM race at
New Hampshire Motor Speedway
last year and hope to repeat
that performance at the very
familiar surroundings of
Lee.
"I am very
excited to race Dave's car
at my family's track," said
Eddie Mac. "A win would be
extra special since it would
help celebrate my parent's
thirtieth year of operation
at Lee. I have raced there
since I was a kid in high
school and my parents have
been my greatest supporters
in my racing career. We have
been working hard in the
shop so hopefully we will be
very competitive even though
this will be our first race
in this car this season.
Bobby Cabral built the car
and will be our crew chief
for the race and I am
looking forward to working
with him."
All the action gets under
way on Friday at Lee USA
Speedway with rotating
practice for all competing
divisions starting at 4 - 6
PM. Racing gets under way at
7 PM with heat race action
followed by features for the
PASS North Super Late Models
and NASCAR Whelen
All-American Series.
PASS North Super Late Model
entry forms for Lee USA
Speedway, the PASS
Non-Winners race at Oxford
Plains Speedway, and Beech
Ridge Motor Speedway, along
with the 43rd Annual HP Hood
Oxford 250 entry forms, can

PASS North Super
Late Models Return To
White Mountain This Weekend |
NAPLES, ME (June 7)
- After a two year absence,
the Pro All Stars Series
(PASS) North Super Late
Models will return to New
Hampshire's White Mountain
Motorsports Park this
Saturday afternoon for the
Foley Oil Company 150.
The race for the 2016
PASS North Super Late Model
championship is heated, with
seven drivers within 68
points of one another
heading to White Mountain
this weekend. Of those seven
drivers, four are former
PASS North champions, led by
current points leader and
Granite State native, DJ
Shaw. Another former
series champion, Ben Rowe,
leads all drivers with 8
PASS North wins at White
Mountain, but has not gone
to victory lane there since
2008. 6-time PASS North
champion Johnny Clark has
also won at White Mountain,
taking the checkered flag
there en route to two of his
championships in 2010 and
2011.
Clark currently
sits fourth in points, based
largely on consistency.
While Clark's only top five
finish was a third in a
thriller at Oxford Plains
Speedway in April, he has
finished in the top 10 in
all but one race in 2016.
Clark hopes this weekend
luck will be on his side as
he seeks his first win of
the season. "We are not
satisfied just running top
10," says Clark, driver of
the family-owned
ClarksScrapMetal.com #54
Chevrolet. "We need to
switch it up just a bit and
get closer towards the front
to pick up that first win of
the season."
Since
PASS last competed at White
Mountain Motorsports Park in
2014, the track has seen
many upgrades. Clark hopes
that plays into the hands of
experienced teams like his
in Saturday evening's Foley
Oil Company 150.
"This weekend is what our
team needs," says Clark.
"Our team needs to go to a
racetrack where nobody has
been for a few seasons.
Plus, you throw in the fact
that White Mountain has had
some pavement work done
since the last time PASS
raced there."
Clark
will not be alone in trying
to figure out the new and
improved White Mountain as
he will be joined by former
HP Hood Oxford 250 winners,
Travis Benjamin, Glen Luce
and Ben and Mike Rowe.
Homestate points leader DJ
Shaw will represent the
Granite State along with
fellow New Hampshire drivers
Bryan Kruczek and Derek
Griffith. Vermont favorites
Todd Stone, Travis Stearns,
and Brent Dragon will be in
the field as well as
Canadian veterans, Matt
Matheson and Dany Poulin.
Maine drivers will fill out
the list of pre-entries led
by JT Thurlow, David Oliver,
and Richie Dearborn, as well
as Massachusetts veteran
Derek Ramstrom.
All
the action gets under way on
Saturday at White Mountain
Motorsports Park with
practice beginning at 1 PM
and racing slated to start
at 5 PM for the PASS North
Super Late Models, Late
Models, Tigers, Dwarf Cars,
Strictly Minis, and Kids
Trucks.

for White Mountain, Lee, and
the PASS non-winners at
Oxford Plains, along with
the 43rd Annual HP Hood
Oxford 250 entry forms, can

PASS South &
Late Model Stock
Doubleheader Set For
South Boston This Weekend |
CHARLOTTE, NC (June
1) - After a thriller last
weekend, the Pro All Stars
Series (PASS) South Super
Late Models will be back at
it this Saturday night at
Virginia's South Boston
Speedway. The NASCAR Late
Model Stock cars have seen
the highest car counts in
the region and will also
compete in Twin 75s, along
with the Hornets division.
While PASS South
championship leader Kodie
Conner has a slight 10 point
advantage over Matt Craig,
defending series champion
Tate Fogleman has moved back
up to third in the standings
and hopes to make up more
ground in Saturday night's
150 lapper.
"I'm
really excited to head back
to South Boston this
weekend," says Fogleman,
driver of the Fogleman
Soils/PFC Brakes Ford #8.
"The track has many
different grooves to run,
but I prefer getting my car
hooked on the flats in both
corners. If you can find
speed down there it makes
passing a lot easier during
the race. South Boston draws
a lot of fans for me and
having that fan base builds
up confidence. I love the
support they always
provide."
In addition
to the PASS South regulars,
defending race winner Kaz
Grala will bring the LFR
Chassis entry back to South
Boston Speedway as he seeks
to claim another checkered
flag. Likewise, Boca Raton,
FL driver Dalton Sargeant
returns to PASS piloting the
Bond Suss Racing car.
Sargeant impressed in his
first PASS South starts in
late 2014 and is hoping for
big things in his return
this weekend.
"Really
looking forward to South
Boston Speedway this weekend
and returning to the PASS
South Series," says
Sargeant, driver of the
Windows 10/Lane Automotive
Toyota Camry #55. "I cut my
teeth racing in the PASS
South Series, it was home to
a few of my very first
starts in a Super Late
Model, so the series is like
home for me, and I love
racing in the southeast."
This weekend's event at
South Boston will be the
culmination of a busy week
for Sargeant that began
competing on road course in
New Jersey and will include
competing at Pocono Raceway
on Friday afternoon.
Sargeant believes he and the
new team are poised for a
victory.
"This will
be my first trip to South
Boston Speedway in a Super
Late Model as I've only
competed there in Late
Models with Lee Pulliam
Performance," says Sargeant
"The test went really well,
it was definitely an
adjustment racing a Super
Late Model around the track.
We have really high
expectations, we've been
really close so far this
season with a brand new race
team and new car, but just
haven't been able to visit
victory lane. Hopefully we
can get win number one at
South Boston Speedway this
weekend."
All the
action gets under way on
Friday at South Boston
Speedway with open practice
for all competing divisions
from 9 AM - 5 PM. On
Saturday, practice will
begin at 2 PM with
qualifying starting at 5 PM
for the PASS South Super
Late Models, NASCAR Late
Model Stocks and Hornets,
followed by main events
starting at 7 PM.

Lightning Fast PASS Super
Late Models Return To
Thunder Road This Weekend |
TNAPLES, ME (May 25)
- After a thrilling debut
last year, the Pro All Stars
Series (PASS) North Super
Late Models are set to
return to Vermont's Thunder
Road International Speedbowl
this Sunday afternoon at
1:30 PM. In addition to 150
laps for New England's
fastest racers, the 54th
Annual Mekkelsen RV Memorial
Day Classic will feature 100
laps for Thunder Road's ACT
Late Models, plus the PASS
Modifieds, Street Stocks,
and Tigers.
Center
Conway, NH's DJ Shaw has had
a solid start to the 2016
PASS North season, currently
sitting second in points on
the strength of a win in the
Southern Maine
Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep 150 at
Beech Ridge Motor Speedway.
While Shaw is happy with his
results so far, the 2014
PASS North champion believes
he and his team can be even
better.
"I think
we've gotten off to a decent
start this season, we've had
a little bit of
inconsistency that we need
to work on, but we got a win
early and that's always
good," says Shaw, driver of
the HK Powersports/Mulkern
Excavating #60.
In
PASS North's first ever trip
to Thunder Road
International Speedbowl last
season, Shaw was a picture
of consistency as he
challenged eventual winner,
Joey Doiron for the
checkered flag. Shaw hopes
to turn the tables on Sunday
afternoon as he looks to
recapture the championship
points lead from Mike
Hopkins.
"Going into
Thunder Road I'm optimistic
about getting back on track
with a solid finish," says
Shaw. "It's one of the
toughest tracks we go to,
but our [Dale Shaw Racing]
cars swept the top four
positions last year and I
can only hope for that kind
of success again."
As
is becoming usual for PASS
North Super Late Model
events, the field will again
be stacked for Sunday
afternoon's 54th Annual
Mekkelsen RV Classic,
including former HP Hood
Oxford 250 winners, Travis
Benjamin, Glen Luce and Ben
and Mike Rowe, along with
former PASS champion, Johnny
Clark. Former ACT Thunder
Road winner, Joey
Polewarczyk will be in the
field, along with fellow New
Hampshire drivers Wayne
Helliwell, Jr. and Jeremy
Davis. Homestate favorites
Todd Stone and Scott Payea
will be in the field as well
as New Brunswick veteran,
Matt Matheson. Maine drivers
will fill out the field led
by David Oliver and Brent
Dragon, as well as
Massachusetts veteran Derek
Ramstrom.
All the
action gets under way on
Sunday at Thunder Road
International Speedbowl with
practice beginning at 10 AM
and racing slated to start
at 1:30 PM for the PASS
North Super Late Models,
PASS Modifieds, Thunder
Road's ACT Late Models,
Street Stocks, and Tigers. Admission
for the Mekkelsen Memorial
Day Classic is just $25.00
for adults with kids 12 and
under free.

forms for Thunder Road,
White Mountain, Oxford
Plains, and Lee, along with

Oxford 250 entry forms, can

DJ SHAW #60 &
MIKE HOPKINS #15 |
Speedway 95 To
Kickoff 50th Anniversary
Season With PASS North
Stars This Weekend |
NAPLES, ME (May 11)
- After a rain out last
weekend at Star Speedway,
the Pro All Stars Series
(PASS) North Super Late
Models and PASS Modifieds
will be back on track this
Sunday afternoon at Maine's
Speedway 95. New England's
top short track stars will
help kickoff the 50th
Anniversary season of racing
at the track in Hermon
dubbed as "Maine's Family
Fun Track."
Through
the first three PASS North
races of the 2016 season,
there have been three
different winners. Beech
Ridge winner DJ Shaw
currently leads the
standings by four points
over Oxford winner Ben Rowe
and is just 13 markers ahead
of Thompson winner Garrett
Hall.
Speedway 95
favorite, Mike Hopkins, who
also hails from Hermon, sits
fourth in the standings just
23 points behind Shaw.
Hopkins has had a fast start
to the year with two top 10s
to begin the PASS North
campaign and a runner-up
finish in the PASS National
Championship opener at
Greenville-Pickens Speedway
in South Carolina. Hopkins
feels he and his team are
primed for their first PASS
North Super Late Model
victory this Sunday
afternoon at Speedway 95.
"Speedway 95 is a place
that has put on some very
good races and finishes over
the years," says Hopkins,
driver of the Hopkins
Landscaping & Paving #15
Toyota. "It would be
unbelievable to pick up my
first ever PASS Super Late
Model win at my home track,
where I have had very good
results over the years we
have raced there. But, it's
not an easy task to do with
the competition the tour
has."
If the past is
any indication, expect
another exciting finish
Sunday afternoon at Speedway
95. Two years ago, Shaw and
Cassius Clark had an amazing
finish that fans are still
talking about, which saw
Clark spin across the finish
line and off the track. Last
year, Mike Rowe came from
the 11th starting position
to take the lead late in the
going from Shaw and claim
the win.
Another
strong field is expected for
Sunday afternoon's action at
Speedway 95 including former
HP Hood Oxford 250 winners,
Ben and Mike Rowe, as well
as last year's winner Glen
Luce. Former PASS champions,
Johnny Clark, Joey Doiron,
and DJ Shaw are also
entered, along with Matt
Matheson and David Oliver,
with many more expected.
All the action gets
under way on Sunday morning
at Speedway 95 with rotating
practice for all competing
divisions starting at 10:20
AM. Racing gets under way at
1:30 PM with heat race
action followed by features
for the PASS North Super
Late Models, PASS Modifieds,
Outlaw Super Series, North
East Mini Stock Tour and
Legends.
PASS North
Super Late Model entry forms
for Speedway 95, Star
Speedway, and Thunder Road
International Speedbowl,
along with the 43rd Annual
HP Hood Oxford 250 entry
forms, can be found at

left column.

GARRETT HALL #94
& DEREK GRIFFITH #12G |
PASS North
Racing For A Cause This
Weekend At Star Speedway |
NAPLES, ME (May 4) -
When the Pro All Stars
Series (PASS) North Super
Late Models hit the track
this Saturday afternoon at
New Hampshire's Star
Speedway, they will be
racing for more than just a
checkered flag. The Support
50 Legs 150 will help raise
awareness for a cause
affecting far too many
Americans. Steve
Chamberland's 50 Legs
organization is to help
provide amputees with the
necessary care and
prosthetics, that they could
not otherwise afford, and to
help them live a happier and
healthier life.
So
far this season, there have
been three different winners
in the first three PASS
North Super Late Model
events. PASS young gun
Garrett Hall captured the
checkered flag at Thompson
Speedway and sits third in
points. Ben Rowe edged out
DJ Shaw and Johnny Clark in
an amazing three wide finish
at Oxford Plains Speedway.
And, Shaw is coming off a
win of his own at Beech
Ridge Motor Speedway that
saw him get the best of Joey
Doiron on a late-race
restart.
Fellow New
Hampshire driver Derekk
Griffith is hoping for
success this weekend in his
home state as he prepares
for the Support 50 Legs 150
at Star Speedway this
weekend. Griffith currently
sits 10th in PASS North
Super Late Model points,
with a best finish of second
coming at the season opener
at Thompson Speedway.
Griffith is excited for
another opportunity to
compete for a win Saturday
at Star Speedway.
"Star has been good to us,
it's a fast little bullring
and I love the way these
high-horsepower PASS Super
Late Models get around this
track," says Griffith,
driver of the Tyngsboro
Motors/50 Legs #12G. "We
finished in the top 10 in
last year's race and we were
able to gather quite a bit
of useful information. We'll
see if we can use it to grab
an even better finish this
weekend."
Another
strong field is expected for
Saturday afternoon's Support
50 Legs 150, including
former HP Hood Oxford 250
winners, Ben and Mike Rowe,
who battled for the win at
Star Speedway last year.
Former PASS champions,
Johnny Clark, Joey Doiron,
and DJ Shaw are also
entered, as well as former
HP Hood Oxford 250 winners,
Glen Luce and Joey
Polewarcyzk. Griffith, Shaw,
and Polewarcyzk will be
joined by fellow Granite
State natives Bryan Kruczek
and Jeremy Davis, as well as
Vermont's Todd Stone,
Massachusetts' Derek
Ramstrom, and New
Brunswick's Matt Matheson.
Maine drivers David Oliver,
Dave Farrington, Jr., Richie
Dearborn, Tracy Gordon, and
Rusty Poland have also sent
in pre-entries.
All
the action gets under way on
Friday at Star Speedway with
rotating practice for all
competing divisions from 4 -
8 PM. On Saturday, practice
will begin at 1:30 PM with
heat races slated to begin
at 4:30 PM followed by
features for the PASS North
Super Late Models, 350
Supers, Strictlys, and
Roadrunners.
The Pro
All Stars Series is
recognized as North
America's premier
sanctioning body for asphalt
Super Late Models and boasts
such marquee events as the
legendary HP Hood Oxford 250
at Oxford Plains Speedway
and PASS South's Easter
Bunny 150 at the historic
Hickory Motor Speedway.
