Benjamin gets first PASS win
this year in Southern Maine
Chrysler Dodge Jeep 150
Scarborough, Maine - Travis Benjamin of Morrill nailed down his first Pro All Stars Series North Super Late Model win of the season Tuesday night at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway's Southern Maine Chrysler Dodge Jeep 150. It was the first victory for Benjamin with the Pettit Motorsports team he joined this season.

Benjamin was in control both early and late in the 150-lap event, battling several competitors for position through the middle stages of the race. At the end it was hometown Scarborough racer Garrett Hall pushing Benjamin across the finish line, falling just short of claiming his third win this year on the series.

Both Hall and third-place finisher Joey Polewarczyk, Jr. of Hudson, New Hampshire mounted serious challenges to Benjamin's lead, especially on restarts. Former Beech Ridge track champion Dave Farrington Jr. of Jay led a healthy portion of the race, looking like a serious threat to score his first-ever PASS triumph en route to a fourth-place finish.

DJ Shaw of Center Conway, New Hampshire, the 2014 PASS champion, claimed a fifth-place finish after making much progress late in the 150-lapper. Jacob Dore of Sanford, filling in for the injured Joey Doiron, was the sixth-place finisher. Six-time champ Johnny Clark of Farmingdale; former Beech Ridge champion Dan McKeage of Gorham; four-time PASS king Ben Rowe of Turner and Brandon Barker of Windham rounded out the top ten.;

Defending Pro All Stars Series Modified champion Andy Shaw of Center Conway, New Hampshire drove the Sumner Sessions 0 to yet another victory, extending the team's lead in the championship standings. Closest to Shaw under the checkered flag was Ryan Robbins of Dixfield, last year's Oxford Plains Speedway Modified titlist.

Bruce Helmuth of Wales led just about half the race before yielding to Shaw. Helmuth went on to claim a career-best third-place finish on the tour. Ron Henry of New Gloucester and Shapleigh's Dana Reed rounded out the top five. Helmuth won the heat race.
