Harrison Charges To First PASS Super Sportsman Victory at Riverside

On Saturday, June 30th, New Hampshire's Riverside Speedway played host to the PASS Pullen Super Sportsman series for the newly formed series inaugural season along with the speedway's regular race card. An Independence Day fireworks display concluded the evening's activities.

Freeport Maine's Jerry Harrison charged to the front from his 7th place starting position to take the lead on lap 17 and drive to his first victory of the 2007 season.

Riverside's own Jeff Marshall backed up his impressive qualifier win with a solid 2nd place finish after multiple runs at Harrison.

Nate Weston stayed consistent and steady and rounded out the events podium finishers in third position.

The event was slowed by 5 cautions with the final coming at lap 19 of the 75 contest.

Series point leader Dan McKeage rebounded back from a lap 16 altercation to place 4th with Hermon Maine's Kris Watson completing the top 5.

Harrison's Victory was his first race at the Groveton, New Hampshire racing surface.

The next Pullen Super Sportsman series next will be at Canaan Speedway in Canaan, New Hampshire on September 3rd along with the PASS Outlaw Late Models and PASS MODS.

SPORTSMEN SHOW UP IN FORCE AT UNITY on 6/17

Everywhere that you looked in the pit area at Unity, there were PASS Pullen Heavy Industries Sportsmen cars. There were enough cars to run two consi races and in the second event ever for the tour, the future is looking bright.

Just like in the series’ inaugural race at Speedway 95 earlier this year, Dan McKeage was the race winner. This time, he finished ahead of Nate Weston, Mike Clark and Joey Doiron.

Doiron’s top five was particularly impressive. The teenager is a rookie in the Sports Series at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway (ME) and decided on Sunday morning to come to Unity and make his PASS debut without the extra day of practice that most teams enjoyed on Saturday afternoon.

PASS Welcomes Pullen Heavy Industries as
Title Sponsor for the New Sportsman Series

(Naples, ME) - The Pro All Stars Series is proud to announce Pullen Heavy Industries of Saco, Maine as the title sponsor for our new Sportsman Series for the 2007 season. PASS is excited to have Pullen Heavy Industries on board for all the activities they have planned for 2007 and is looking forward to continuing the relationship with the entire Pullen team.

Pullen Heavy Industries specializes in any needs you may have for aggregate materials, bank sand, crushed stone/gravel, screened loam and ¾” reclaim asphalt is also available. They serve both commercial and residential customers. Delivery is also available. Pullen Heavy Industries is located at 54 New County Road, Saco, Maine 04072; call 207-283-4311 for information or to place an order.

“Having started my racing career in this type of racecar, it made me want to do something to show my support towards this division,” said Scott Pullen, owner of Pullen Heavy Industries. To show his support he has, not only come on board as the Title Sponsor for the Sportsman Series, he has also offered contingency awards at each of the seven (7) races this year. He is sponsoring a weekly Hardcharger Award for the amount of $100.00. The Hardcharger award will be awarded to the driver that improves the most positions from his original starting spot by the end of the race. He is also sponsoring a weekly award for the driver that leads the most laps in a feature event in the amount of $100.00.

“This is where a lot of today’s Super Late Model drivers began their careers, so hopefully some of the next batch of the SLM drivers will come from this division,” said Scott. Most of the drivers from this division have in fact, come from racing their local track week in and week out. The PASS 400 weekend at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway (Scarborough, Maine) September 22nd and 23rd has become a staple among the Pro All Stars Series Schedule, offering great racing over the course of the weekend in all the different divisions. This is one reason Pullen Heavy Industries is looking forward to being the title sponsor for the Sportsman race on the great weekend.

The way the schedule was designed for 2007 it will allow for most drivers to race both the Sportsman Series and run for the Championship at their local track. With that possibility, Pullen Heavy Industries has also put out an award, totaling $500.00, for the driver who can win two championships in 2007. One requirement is that the driver must win the PASS Sportsman Series championship and win a championship in any other division at their local track. For instance if the champion in the PASS Sportsman Series is also the champion at his local track in any division, he would earn this special bonus. This is a big deal for many drivers and also for Pullen Heavy Industries. They have stepped up in a big way for 2007 and PASS is thrilled to have them on board.

The Pullen Heavy Industries Sportsman Series kicks off its 2007 season on May 27th at Speedway 95 located in Hermon, Maine. Remember, the Pro All Stars Series opens the 2007 season at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway on April 21.
