Several hundred racers and race fans from throughout the Northeast and eastern Canada gathered Friday evening in Portland Maine for the first annual Pro All Stars Series Champions banquet. Prior to the 2001 season, Pro Stock veteran Sam Sessions had a stack of wins to his credit but track and series titles had somehow eluded him. Sessions and his Sud’n Racing Team turned that statistic around in 2001 and Friday night he and his team were honored with all three PASS Championship titles: U.S.A., Canada and the Overall Series Championship. Richie Dearborn earned the Northern Race Tires Rookie of the Year award, while Ben Rowe took home the Sunoco Race Fuels Fast Time Challenge for earning the most pole positions in 2001. Pro All Stars Series President Tom Mayberry presented several special individual recognition awards. Gary Smith received the Hard Luck award, while Kenny Wright was honored for his Sportsmanship. Bill and Barbara Chick were recognized for their dedication to Pro Stock racing with the Pro Stock Achievement plaque. Pace Car driver Roland Mayberry received the Dedication award, while PASS Webmaster and photographer Norm Marx was recognized with the Commitment to Excellence award. Northern Race Tires received the Promoters Award for their assistance in developing and carrying out the PASS tire management program.

The top fifteen competitors in all three points races were presented with trophies for their achievements.

Winston cup star Ricky Craven came by to drop the puck, sign autographs, and participating in the give-away of a Dodge Neon from DNK to a lucky fan.
