ROWE NUMBER ONE AT SCOTIA

Turner Maine’s Ben Rowe took advantage of a lap 44 restart to wrestle the lead away from Louie Mechalides and earn his fifth Pro All Stars Series victory of the international Pro Stock tours’ inaugural season.

The driver of the Mechanical Services/Hi-Tech insulation Monte Carlo bested 23 other time trailers to earn the Sunoco Race Fuel fast time award, but started the C&R Auto Supply 150 in the third spot after finishing behind Mechalides and series point leader Sam Sessions in the Pole Dash.

Although Mechalides mounted several challenges, Rowe maintained the advantage and came home with a five-car length victory over Mechalides, Dave Gorveatt, Gary Smith and Sam Sessions. Larry Gelinas survived a late race spin to finish sixth. John Flemming, Shawn Tucker, Patrick Thibideau and Northern Race Tires Rookie of the Race Richie Dearborn rounded out the top ten.

Sam Sessions earned the first Pro All Stars Canadian Series title. His four top five and five top ten finishes in the designated Canadian series events earned Sessions the crown by a mere 6 points over Rowe. Mechalides trailed Rowe by 2 points to earn the third spot.

On Saturday Sept. 15th the Pro All Stars travel to North Woodstock New Hampshire’s’ White Mountain Motorsports Park for the P.A.S.S. 150 presented by Kawasaki-Yamaha of Laconia. White Mountain’s own Late Models, Super Streets, Strictly Streets and Strictly Minis will round out the night’s racing card. Racing gets underway at the Route 3 oval at 6 PM.
