PASS Announces Northern Race Tires Rookie Challenge
PASS Rookies in Super Late Models,
Outlaws & Mods to Compete for Tires

Making the step up to a touring series in racing can be big. There are bigger headlines, bigger crowds and bigger trophies ready to greet new rookies in a touring series. Unfortunately, there are often bigger budgets associated with a move up in racing as well. So every little bit of support helps out.

Newcomers to the Pro All Stars Series in 2007 will now have that little bit of help. Series officials, along with Northern Race Tire and American Racer tires, announced today a new contingency program for rookies in various PASS divisions. More than $6,000 in American Racer tires will be given out to rookie competitors this coming season.

The top rookie at each PASS North or South Super Late Model event will be awarded one American Racer tire at the next PASS event. In addition, the top Rookie of the Year will now look forward to a set of four new tires to be awarded at the next season opener.

The wealth is being spread out in other PASS divisions as well. PASS Outlaw Late Model rookies will be awarded a $60 coupon towards the purchase of American Racer tires by being the top-placing rookie in each event. For PASS Modifieds, competitors will go for a $50 coupon under the same criteria. The top rookies of the season in Outlaws and Modifieds will receive two free tires at next year’s season opening event.

“This program is all part of a long-term relationship with PASS and Northern Race Tire,” said PASS founder and president Tom Mayberry. “We really appreciate what Northern Race Tire and American Racer is doing for our competitors. I’ve run my own racecars, and I know how valuable a program like this is to the racers out there.”

“I’ve known Tom since he was racing,” said Northern Race Tire’s Jack Gerbrands. “I’m a believer in what he’s built and this is just one way to show that. This program should help some of the newest PASS competitors out, and I thank American Race Tire for their support in helping us put this together.”

In order to qualify for the program, a team must have a PASS license and have a driver who has not competed in more than 50 percent of the previous year’s schedule. Teams must display Northern Race Tire and American Racer decals on their cars and PASS has the final right to accept or decline all Rookie of the Year candidates.

Teams wishing to take part in the PASS/Northern Race Tire Rookie of the Year Challenge must sign up prior to their season opening event. To receive your registration materials by mail or to review your eligibility, please contact Amanda Mayberry at (207) 693-6497.

Tiger Rear Ends Comes Aboard To
Sponsor Pro All Stars Series

“Tiger Race To The Front” Program Announced
tigerrearend.com

CONCORD, NC (March 26, 2007) – “Hey, nice rear end.” That phrase is not something you customarily use when talking about the mechanics of a racecar. At least, not until now. Tiger Rear Ends is hoping to change that by getting involved with the Pro All Stars Series North and South Super Late Model Tours.

PASS announced today that Tiger Rear Ends will become a marketing partner with both PASS North and PASS South for the 2007 seasons, with hopes to continue to grow their product into the short track realms.

The program includes a specific year-end prize within the series entitled the “Tiger Race to the Front” award. Throughout the 2007 season, tabs will be kept on who improves the most from their starting spot to their finishing position in each race. The driver, from either the North or South series, that improves the most positions throughout the course of the season will win the “Tiger Race to the Front” award, which includes a Tiger Standard Super Late Model Rear-End with locker mechanism. The total value is nearly $2,000.

In addition, the third-place finisher in each PASS North and PASS South race in 2007 will receive a $50 gift certificate good toward Tiger Rear End products.

“We’re very excited about partnering with the PASS Series this year,” said Gerald Williams, Vice President of Tiger Rear Ends. “We started out with another series to get more involved in the short track racing side, and now we felt the value that PASS offers is a great fit for us this year. We are growing our asphalt short track program while also continuing to advance our dirt program as well.

“We want to get into the PASS Series to further our products in the Super Late Model world. The PASS North and South Series are great avenues to get the word out about Tiger Rear Ends. And supporting both their North and South tours is a great way to expand into new areas. We want to make more people aware of our product throughout the country, and by being affiliated with both PASS tours, we’re able to do that.

The addition of Tiger Rear Ends adds yet another top-rated motorsports company to the growing list of supporters of both PASS tours, which also includes Northern Tire, Sunoco, Performance Friction Brakes, BSR Products, Racing Electronics, 51 Designs, Unifirst Uniforms and more.

“When companies like Tiger Rear Ends continue to come onboard, it shows everyone how much this series is growing,” said PASS Owner and President Tom Mayberry. “I’ve been really impressed with the rear-end products that Tiger produces and I’m sure a lot of our teams will like their products too.

“I’ve always been a big supporter of telling our teams to use the products that support the series. When a company comes in and decides they want to be a part of the series, they are showing that they support short track racing in general. We’re really happy to have Tiger come on board and we look forward to a very long relationship with them.”

Tiger Rear Ends is a new company with some fresh ideas about how racing and high-performance rear-end assemblies should be made. Tiger Rear Ends is a division of Mid-State Machine Company, Inc. Their experience in fabricating high-quality machine parts and metal products for a variety of industries began more than 30 years ago. Their craftsmanship and professionalism in this industry is second to none.

Tiger Rear Ends is co-located with Mid-State Machine Company at 2960 Corriher Grange Road in Mount Ulla, NC. Tiger’s newly-expanded plant covers over 100,000 square feet and is equipped with modern, state of the art CNC turning, milling, and grinding as well as other precision machinery.

There are still many contingency programs available for both the PASS North and PASS South Super Late Model Series, as well as PASS Outlaws, PASS Mods and the PASS Sportsman Series. The PASS North Series operates a 14-race schedule that begins in April and runs through September in the Northeast. The PASS South Super Late Models compete in an eight-race schedule that begins in early April and runs through November, where it concludes with the Mason-Dixon Meltdown, this year to be run at Concord Motorsport Park in North Carolina.

PASS & Performance Friction Form Relationship
Brake Company Teams with BSR to Provide PASS with the Best Brakes in Racing

CONCORD, NC (March 21, 2007) – There is something to go along with success. Its draws people’s eyes. It gets people’s attention. It makes them stand up and say, “I need to be a part of that.” That is the kind of reaction that Tom Mayberry has experienced with the Pro All Star Series since its inception and first race in May of 2001.

Now, it’s paying off, as the PASS organization is running several successful tours, including the highly-competitive PASS North and PASS South Super Late Model Series. That success has brought attention, and that is what has attracted some of the best sponsors in the Motorsports world.

The Pro All Stars Series today announced Performance Friction Brakes through BSR Products as a contingency sponsor of both the PASS North and PASS South Super Late Model Series. Performance Friction will be introducing a program that will include several awards, including product certificates and a complete brake caliper set to a competitor at the end of the season.

“We want to expand ourselves more in the Short Track and grassroots side of racing and get our name out there, and a great way to do that is with PASS,” said Derek Spencer, Motorsports Tech/Sales Manager for Performance Friction Brakes. “Obviously, a lot of people have used our product and we want to give a little bit back to the guys that are, as well as get others to try out our product.

“We all know the types of cars (Super Late Models) that run with the PASS North and South and that’s a big part of why we wanted to do this. I haven’t been to any of their races yet, but from speaking with people about them, seeing their cars at Speedfest and reading all about them on sites like Speed51.com, I know that they are some of the coolest cars out there. The series is run well and the officials and teams have their stuff together. That is one of the most important things about becoming involved with PASS.”

Performance Friction will award the fifth-place finisher in each PASS North and PASS South race with a $50 certificate to be used at BSR Products toward a purchase on Performance Friction brakes. At the end of the year, at each series’ respective banquet, a competitor will walk away with a complete Super Late Model brake caliper set from Performance Friction and BSR Products.

“I think it’s great when companies like Performance Friction step up into the mix,” said Mayberry, PASS Owner and President. “A lot of these companies think that Nextel Cup and Busch are the ways to go, but they have to realize that there are a lot of local and short track racers out there using their products as well, and using them loyally.

“To have a company like Performance Friction come to the series and offer some contingency programs for our drivers shows them that they support all kinds of racing. We’re really honored to have Performance Friction come on board, and I’m sure they will gain a few more clients out of their involvement with PASS as well.”

Sunoco Returns as Official Fuel of PASS

Sanctioning Body and Fuel Supplier Continue Long-Term Relationship

CONCORD, NC (March 6, 2007) – Sunoco has a national advertising campaign promoting their involvement with NASCAR that tells motorists how they can use the same brand of fuel that stars like Tony Stewart and Kasey Kahne use. Short track fans can take that one step further, with the announcement that Sunoco Race Fuel will return as the official fuel of the Pro All Stars Series in 2007, fans can also use the same fuel found in cars driven by racers like PASS champs Johnny Clark and Mike Rowe, plus former champ Ben Rowe and up-and-coming stars such as Ryan Lawler and Cassius Clark.

The PASS North and South Super Late Model tours, as well as the PASS Outlaw series, will mandate the use of a Sunoco spec fuel this year. Teams can choose from Sunoco standard or premium racing fuels, which are both distributed by New England Racing Fuels, owned by owned by NASCAR on FOX television broadcaster Mike Joy and John Holland.

“Sunoco and New England Racing Fuels have been with PASS since the very beginning,” said PASS founder Tom Mayberry. “We appreciate their involvement and look forward to continuing our relationship with them. I feel strongly that selecting a “spec” fuel for the Pro All Stars Series is an important step in controlling costs and maintaining a level playing field for our competitors. John and Mike have supported racers and racing in the Northeast for many years, and they share our concerns regarding cost control. We really appreciate their support.”

“It’s been a good relationship between Sunoco and PASS since day one,” said Holland. “I can remember the day that I met Tom Mayberry. We were at Lee (Speedway, NH) during a Busch North practice session. We sat down, and Tom told me what he planned to do. He seemed honest and realistic right away, so we came to an agreement. I don’t even remember what our first deal was now. PASS has grown from there, and we’ve enjoyed a good relationship.

“We’re excited to be back, and Sunoco is excited about it too. They have a long history in motorsports and are the leaders in the race fuel market.”

Calling Sunoco a leader in motorsports is not an exaggeration. In fact, it is almost more of an understatement. Sunoco is the official fuel of NASCAR, the SCCA and more than 40 other sanctioning bodies throughout the United States. They are also the fuel supplier for more than 400 racetracks in the U.S., including all but two short tracks in New England.

As the spec fuel of PASS, all competitors will be required to practice and compete with either the Sunoco Race Fuel Standard or Supreme products at all PASS Super Late Model and Outlaw events. Competitors in the PASS Modified and Sportsman ranks have the options of either using Sunoco Race Fuels or pump gas. No exotic and expensive blends of fuels are allowed.

The PASS South season will get started on April 7th with the running of the Second Annual Easter Bunny 150 at Hickory Motor Speedway (NC). The PASS North and PASS Outlaw divisions spring into action two weekends later on April 21st at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway (ME).
